14 July 2025, MH, by Matt Hooper: Precisely 3 years from now, the Olympic Games in Los Angeles will get underway, with a spectacular Opening Ceremony across the city at SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. LA, the City of Angels, will join Paris and London as three-time hosts of the Summer Olympic Games, and will welcome athletes from 200 countries competing in the widest variety of sports ever seen. 351 events in 36 sports will be staged across LA, California and Oklahoma, with just 14 sports making up the first Olympic Games staged in LA back in 1932, and 21 in 1984, making this the biggest Olympics ever to be staged in the United States, and the biggest event ever to be staged in LA.

Today, MH Creative launches its wide-ranging and unique coverage of the Olympic Games, following comprehensive coverage of the Olympic Golf Tournaments in 2016, 2021 and 2024.

Golf will once again be at the forefront, with SHANK covering both the Men's and Women's tournaments, and the first ever mixed team competition

Golf at the Olympic Games is something I am passionate about, as I have always believed our sport should take its place alongside the great sports of the world at the Greatest Show on Earth, and Paris 2024 certainly proved that Golf belongs. “This was Golf’s Olympic coming out party”. The words of Rory McIlroy to Eurosport following the conclusion of his final round on Sunday. “I have never played in a golf tournament like this one” said the Northern Irishman.

In years to come this day may be looked back upon as Golf’s ‘Super Sunday’, the day which transformed outside opinions of the sport, and the day which helped move us forward to a united, global future. It may also be known as the day Scottie Scheffler joined the legends of the sport, and achieved greatness on the world stage, at the Games of Paris 2024.

Rory McIlroy may well have summed it up best: “I still think that the Ryder Cup is the best tournament that we have in our game, pure competition, and I think this has the potential to be right up there with it. I think with how much of a sh-t show the game of golf is right now and you think about the two tournaments that might be the purest form of competition in our sport, we don't play for money in it. So it speaks volumes for what's important in sports and what's important, I think every single player this week has had an amazing experience.”

Riviera Country Club will host the Olympic Golf Competitions at LA2028, a course which so many of the world’s greatest golfers are so familiar with, playing the Genesis Invitational on the PGA TOUR each February. The Opening Ceremony of LA2028 will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium on 14 July, 2028, meaning the Men’s Golf Tournament may be moved to the final week of the Olympic Games, with The Open Championship taking place in the first week of the month, 6-9 July 2024.

There might well be a scheduling headache for four year’s time, but try keeping the world’s best away from LA and the fourth edition of Olympic Golf in the modern era.

Aside from Golf, MH Creative will cover the rest of the LA 2028 Olympic Games through GRNDSTND

YOUTH OF THE WORLD, ASSEMBLE.

"I call upon the Youth of the World, to assemble four years from now", the immortal words spoke by the President of the International Olympic Committee at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games. In 10 days from now MH Creative will launch its coverage of the 2028 Olympic Games. 14 July will mark exactly 3 years until the Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles, and across CHARISMA, GRNDSTND and SHANK there will be unique coverage of the Greatest Show on Earth.

A unique part of MH Creative's coverage will be a series of photography essays in collaboration with models and athletes from across Fife and Angus, and further afield. 'YOUTH OF THE WORLD, ASSEMBLE' will see Matt Hooper Photography work with several models aged 18-29 at Sports venues in Cupar, St Andrews, Dundee and Edinburgh. among others to be showcased. Photo essays will feature sports including Golf, Boxing, Skateboarding, Surfing, Rugby Sevens, Swimming, Athletics, Cycling and Basketball, and the series will be published online at CHARISMA, GRDNSTND and SHANK.

The photography essays will be published in 9 consecutive months in the lead-up to the 2028 LA Olympic Games, and the series will begin in October 2027 on CHARISMA, GRNDSTND and SHANK, with Skateboarding.

I will be collaborating with local Skateboarder Marc Forking in Cupar on Thursday 10 July, shooting across Cupar using a variety of locations including Haugh Park, Burnside East, Ferguson Square and Duffus Park Skate park. I will be shooting with Kyle Moran in Edinburgh soon, at public golf facilities across the Capital, and at Edinburgh's iconic monuments. This feature will also be part of a separate essay, called GOLF CITY.

Launching the MH Creative brand identity for coverage of the LA 2028 Olympic Games

For Paris 2024, SHANK used a unique identity for the Olympic Games, using the lettering of all the sports to construct the iconic landmark of Paris - the Eiffel Tower. For LA 2028 inspiration has been taken from the iconic logo of the Los Angeles Dodgers, using the lettering of the sports to construct the name of the host city - Los Angeles.

This branding will be seen across MH Creative coverage of the LA 2028 Olympic Games, on SHANK, GRNDSTND and CHARISMA, including Facebook and other social channels.
